Categories of Membership

Currently, the following categories of Membership on Global Board of Trade Limited (GBOT) are open :-


Trading Member [TM] also known as Broker Member [BM]

Trading Member is a body corporate or Financial Institution which has been admitted as a Member on GBOT.

The Trading Member shall have rights to trade on its own account as well as on account of its Clients, but shall have no right to clear and settle such trades by itself.

All such trading members must be affiliated to any one of the Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Members [ITCM] or Professional Clearing Members [PCM], having clearing rights on GBOT.

Eligibility criteria
Entities – Corporates & Financial Institutions, including their subsidiaries are eligible to apply for membership, as a Trading Member subject to the regulatory norms, provisions and the Rules and circulars of Financial Services Commission, Mauritius, Global Board of Trade and its Clearing House as maybe applicable from time to time.

Other Eligibility
Minimum Paid Up Equity Capital US $ 40,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies)
Net worth of the Company US $ 40,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies)
Controlling Shareholder Identify the Controlling Shareholder(s) in terms of the norms related to Controlling Shareholders Group.

 

Trading-cum-Clearing Member [TCM] also known as Self Clearing Member [SCM]

Trading-Cum-Clearing Member is a body corporate or Financial Institution which has been admitted as a Member on GBOT.

The Trading-cum-Clearing Member shall have rights to trade on its own account as well as on account of its Clients and clear their own trades through GBOT (but cannot carry out any clearing functions for any other Member.)

Trading-cum-Clearing Members may however choose to affiliate themselves with any other Institutional Trading-cum-Clearing Member or Professional Clearing Member for clearing and settling their trades, if they so desire. 

Eligibility criteria
Entities – Corporates & Financial Institutions, including their subsidiaries are eligible to apply for membership, as a Trading-cum Self Member subject to the regulatory norms, provisions and the Rules and circulars of Financial Services Commission, Global Board of Trade and its Clearing House as maybe applicable from time to time

Criteria
Minimum Paid Up Equity Capital US $ 40,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies)
Net worth of the Company US $ 40,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies)
Controlling Shareholder Identify the Controlling Shareholder(s) in terms of the norms related to Controlling Shareholders Group.

 

Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Member [ITCM] also known as General Clearing Member [GCM]

Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Member is a body corporate or Financial Institution which has been admitted as a Member on GBOT.

The Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Member shall have rights to trade and clear trades on its own account as well as on account of its Clients, through GBOT. The Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Member can also clear and settle trades on behalf of other Trading Members and other Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Members at their request, subject to the terms and conditions specified by GBOT.

Eligibility criteria
Entities – Corporates & Financial Institutions, including their subsidiaries are eligible to apply for membership, as an Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Member subject to the regulatory norms, provisions and the Rules and circulars of Financial Services Commission, Global Board of Trade and its Clearing House as maybe applicable from time to time-

Criteria
Minimum Paid Up Equity Capital US $ 100,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies)
Net worth of the Company US $ 100,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies)
Controlling Shareholder Identify the Controlling Shareholder(s) in terms of the norms related to Controlling Shareholders Group.

 

Professional Clearing Member [PCM] also known as Special Clearing Member [SCM]

Professional Clearing Member is a Financial Institution or a commercial Bank who is admitted by the Exchange as a Member, conferring upon them a right to clear and settle trades initiated by other Trading Members and/or Integrated Trading-cum-Clearing Members of GBOT as per terms and conditions of GBOT.

Professional Clearing Members / Special Clearing Members have no eligibility to trade on GBOT.

Eligibility criteria
Entities – Financial Institutions or commercial Banks are eligible to apply for membership, as Professional Clearing Members subject to the regulatory norms, provisions and the Rules and circulars of Financial Services Commission, Mauritius, Global Board of Trade and its Clearing House as maybe applicable from time to time.
